Urban Monkeys Far North Queensland.

The Urban Monkeys are James Whitehead and Adam Giardina, two
Dj/producers from Far North Queensland. James and Adam have been writing
music together for the past four years, merging their musical talents
to produce their own original style of gritty techno/electro.

With both their roots planted firmly in the outdoor festival scene it was
at an outdoor gig that the pair first met. James was already an
established Dj and had been producing under the alias of ’Souljam’
whilst Adam had just completed a diploma in music studies.
Their mutual love for many styles of music and a passion for
experimenting with sound created the perfect foundation to build on,
and thus Urban Monkeys were born.

Their explosive live sets, focused approach in the studio and unusual
production skills have bought much attention to the Monkeys of late.
Most recently they have played at Melbournes 'OnesixOne', 'Brown Alley'
and 'Rainbow Serpent(renegade)'.They have also supported the likes of
'Bass Kleph', 'Deepchild','Simon Posford', 'Gavin Martin'
& 'Phonecia' amongst others.

Taking note of the Monkeys interesting new sound was U.S label
Hardplace Records who in 2007 started to license and release them.
The first release with Hardplace was titled ‘AvTv’ and was received
extremely well from all corners of the globe and charted in 'Kid Dubs'
Beatport Top ten. In addition to working with Hardplace the
Monkeys have also released with 'Bus Records' & 'Open Records'.
