Just because Wade went off the deep end does not mean that all past, present & future discussions about religion should be tarred with the same brush. Especially as the guy who is posting probably has an IQ double of yours. An interestingly defensive response to a totally light hearted suggesti...

Dear Admin, This is obviously the solution - a simple forum section where all pseudo christian and other maniacal religious nutjobs can post their various rants in the knowledge that they are entitled to be there. They can be sanctimonious about their posts with no regard for anyone's feelings, and ...

To be honest I don't know much about the wind industry in WA. I do know that the wind resource in Australia is generally considered pretty average by world standards. My understanding is that the best conditions are thought to be in southern South Australia and Victoria. Having said that, there is a...

Try living under the flight path! Seriously though, it is curious that these people are having health problems from the wind farm. But ffs Australia is a massive country, why would you put one near residential zones when there is so much spare land in the middle of nowhere? Apart from the wind bein...

Why do you see the same people playing? . . . . hmmmmm. 1. They are actually pretty good. 2. They put themselves out there and play. 3. The kids like them! 4. They aren't jaded fuckers. PS. India is full of fraudsters like this. Every year or so one pops up claiming not to have eaten or drunk for years. They'll get found out then go back to exorcising ignorant villagers for cash, levitating on ropes and making magical blood appear from coconuts. It's hillarious how the western media p...

^ Illegally in the US, it may well be, but I would not have thought it systematic and widespread at all, much like in Australia. You don't tend to find widespread DDT residue in Australian agricultural soils at all. You are more likely to find dieldrin/aldrin, but more often than not much older arse...

Be fair - it was not the OP that did the cherry picking! He cited what the study was actually about, which was human health. It was not about environmental issues. On the environmental side, citing a bunch of outdated studies on the effects of DDT which has not been used for many years in many count...

Ok, I'm not sure what you base those conclusions on. You may know more than I do, you may not. If you look at Hawking's honours list, it is real, and it does represent outstanding academic achievement. Many of those awards are issued through a stuffy, ages old process which is not based on sympathy,...

I think where anthropologists see themselves as scientists in some ways is in their attempts to predict the development of societies based on other species. One way of looking at this is to view people purely as just another species and apply reasonable biological/ecological principles. There are ar...
