Yep such a good festival! Always love a good bush doof. Was super impressed that it happened just on the front lawn of Canberra all above board and completely legit, makes me happy to talk about my doof adventures to non doofers, keep it up! Great to see the collaboration of SOS, eppp, regen and all...

Incredible party! Soooo envious reading this thread. Track parties really etched out a place of their own in doof lore... I don't understand the secret sauce that makes the mere overnight experience so good, but it's a party I'll never forget and RIDICULOUSLY good by any standard.
Cheers!

Pete, you know I thought that too, but if it gets in, in x they'll decide to tax them again with a direct carbon tax/credit... This spill in the US is a game changer. Hard to believe but respectable people are talking about setting off nukes on the ocean floor, would you believe it. The cost of dirt...

You know, I like the precious old coddler, but he's 90 and I get the feeling he's going down, screaming blue bloody murder. What else is he supposed to do? At least Branson is giving him a fine send off with a trip on V galactic later this year. Let's hope he makes it. There's so much Inspiring work...

and to legitimize the chemtrailing (yes legitimize as it has been going on above our heads for many years, but now they want us to to accept it as a fact). I'm assuming your referring to the use of Sulfur Dioxide? Yeah that's a fucking terrible idea. As something of a last resort measure, here's ho...

Personally I'm against it, although, I know it's kind of a harsh position to take, because, for instance, the catholic church are total pricks and condemn fucking decent people for what is a perfectly natural condition into being destined 'to hell'. Pretty fucked if you ask me. But to be honest Marr...

Humans are 97% of the biomass on the planet and the natural biodiversity of the planet in raw numbers has declined by 1/3 since the late 1960s, let alone all the species toppled in that time. One analogy I can think of is the Aborigines, they were decimated & crippled by Europeans and the onslau...

The politics of climate change is fucking nuts!! On one hand, why wouldn't it be political, because, in many ways it is a new world order - and when you think about it, is alarmingly cancerous to more than a few folk. As interesting as the policy side is, anyone who's ever worked in an established b...

She held her ground pretty well I gotta say! Although she is fronting greenpeace, who imo are certainly not anything like right all the time (nuclear for a start) Couple of things I thought he was repackaging: * last 10 years have cooled because 1998 was a el-nino year, but the overall trend is warm...

This Lord Monckton is a nutjob imo, maybe his personality compels him to distinguish himself. He's certainly in what seems an unassailable position right now as chief of the deniers and crony rallying point!
I read in smh that he was paid $100,000 to come to Australia for this?

They do go to some length to make it sustainable 'based' event. No event will ever be completely so though but the effort they do go to is a good one. Of course, I realize this, ie. vegetable oil / dieselite powered, etc. But 26,000 is such a lot of people! As a premiere sustainable party I know so...

I did not buy a boom bus tick initially but after advice I am going to organize one from our 1 local Boom Ambassador. Meet a bunch of boomers, share our resources, and get a great crew and camp site cooperatively sorted Interesting how they plug it as a sustainable festival, but, there will be so ma...

So your hero and mine, Ian Pilmer was on lateline, vs George Monbiot: http://www.abc.net.au/news/video/2009/12/15/2772906.htm Is it just me, or, is Pilmer dodging every question, and lifting up his book to plug at every opportunity?? Lots of bravado through the interview, but, even without some ackn...

it's not big oil, it's big coal . it's funny, the oil guys are pointing at the coal guys and saying, ETS, ETS, and the coal guys are pointing at Big Oil saying carbon tax, carbon tax..! Carbon traps heat. Does anyone disagree? No, but CO2 only really has an affect on temperature up to a point of ~200ppm. After that, Sweet. Fuck. All. I just checked out Ian Pilmer's Wikipedia page and a quote attributed to him says "Carbon dioxide has an effect on the atmosphere and it has an ...
