Very sad, I think. One of the last avenues for exposing psytrance to the masses has been closed to us. Another sign of the decline of Sydney's psy scene really.

For those looking for inspiration I would suggest a two-day party at the Newington Armory (site of The Great Escape festival), with music running 9am until 9pm each day on main stages, and small, quieter stages running 9pm to 9am.

These are the kind of models that would work well I think.

I'm all for equal opportunities, but quite frankly, in my humble opinion, if you're blind, you shouldn't be throwing dance festivals.

Shore thing looks awesome, great lineup and a great location. Underworld, Eric Prydz AND the Presets.

Definitely considering going. Or maybe just going somewhere quiet out in the bush, one of the two.

In my opinion for a successful festival you'll need:

1. Eight to twelve months of preparation.

2. One person who is considered the festival director and makes the final call on all creative decisions.

3. At least $100,000.

4. To involve authorities at every step.

Woooo theres the back of me in the last photo. What was with those raver chicks. Too many kids in phat pants and fluffies, someone should have told em it wasn't a rave Actually, strangely, in depth anthropological studies have shown that it is possible to enjoy psytrance regardless of dress. Scient...

Slight change to that lineup - Alex and I should be around the other way, I'm playing after Raptor at 2:30 and Alex before at 12:30. Tract - please give it a rest with your tirades, you know perfectly well Lui, Scott and myself are all equally capable of presenting Earthdance-worthy sets. Scotty had...

Gil put on one party. Woo. There are plenty of people in the scene who put in the hard yards to produce events. They are pretty nice people too.

Gil was putting on outdoor parties going back to the nineties.

As far as I know this is true, the earthdance global movement was founded by doofers with the majority of parties around the world featuring psytrance mainstage. but sadly our Sydney day of fun has large focus on minimal/prog/electro/house etc. I’ve been to 2 earthdances in Europe and both had ps...
