It also says that part of the reason is that there are 2 other festivals in cairns around the same time. Does anyone know what these might be? Will there by psy involved?

Laura has its annual indigenous festival on at that time, also Bushweek Festival as well. Neither of these events endorse psytrance AFAIK.
