hi everyone
we are very happy to announce our final addition to the line up......

product placement (cairns, live)

taken from the product placement my space site...product placement, is music forged from a unique blend of ancient instrumental grooves with futuristic synthesized technologies of sound manipulation. this minimal-style psytrance takes the viewer on a journey throughout deep tribal soundscapes with powerful low-end basslines and driving percussion.

hayden has been a good friend to electric power pole records for a number of years with the 'borrowed time' album not only seeing him contribute at track but also taking control of its mastering. we are very excited to have him come down to sydney for this special performance alongside fellow sydneyside contributors to the album.

so the final line up.....

hey everyone
some bio´s for the artists playing on the 1st august. information provided via plagurism, fading memories or general misconceptions.
always nice to know a bit more about some of the characters in the sydney psytrance community as well as our special guest from cairns...
enjoy.

widespread is an offshoot for proceedings for nathan hemsworth commonly referred to as ‘fracas’. debuting at the dragon dreaming festival last year, this progressive, psychedelia mix has become a life of its own with nathan also playing at this years cairns winter solstice. thumping fat bass, progressive in feel and groove but with an underlying psychedelic twist at any moment, widespread who will feature in epp´s next progressive release will open the evening proper with a selection of material building in intensity and night time shenanigans. widespread´s favourite colour is purple.

since their debut live set at track 5 in may 2007 hedonix (robert dilley and steven zanuttini) have played a mass of live sets, cairns, melbourne, sydney, overseas in japan and europe, in the australian bush and the rooms indoors and have created an impressive following of mice and sheep as well as writing psychedelic trance music which they describe on their my space page as 'set out to combine the best elements of all the styles and other electronic music genres while making sure to keep each track groovy, twisted and full of surprises'.

with previous releases on cosmic conspiracy records and vertigo and their debut album 'order out of chaos' to be released by electric power pole records, set to see the light of day on the 7 august, this set will definitely be a preview of new things to come. hedonix favourite colour is purple

product placement is hayden morison from cairns and will join the evening of music as our special guest. hayden has a number of releases musically on electric power pole records and cosmic conspiracy records of new zealand providing this unique minimal journey through the psychadelia of the beat. hayden has played throughout australia and is picking up a reputation for an outstanding live act which we are pleased to say will include a number of new tracks especially written for the evening. we are delighted that hayden who also mastered borrowed time will be back in sydney for the first time since 2007 for this special performance. product placement's favourite colour is dark purple.

sinister sequence over the last year have shown themselves to be one of the most exciting acts to come out of the sydney scene. the current brain child of luke burns (a.k.a S.E.T.H) and russel newton (a.k.a sensum), the duo are combining to create night time trance definitely left of centre in a manner using their own words would include ‘smoking a bowl, settling down in front of the laptop and getting creative both visually & aurally’. sinister sequence have created a reputation for quality psychadelic missions with live sets spanning at times over 3 hours taking listeners and groovers to layer upon layer of intense night beats which has seen them play along the east cost of australia, canberra and melbourne. sinister sequence's favourite colour is purple

mnemonic is michael norris from sydney . formerly combining as one half of ‘melee’ with nathan hemsworth which saw a number of live performances on their part and a previous release on electric power pole records compilation ‘blackout’, michael now focus his energy on his solo project ‘mnemonic’ which has spurned a new release on the ‘borrowed time’ compilation. mnemonic creates a mixture of full on night and melodic sounds always full of groove for your dancing pleasure which electric power pole are delighted to present as part of the ‘borrowed time’ album launch. mnemonic's favourite colour is purple

fracas (nathan hemsworth) has been in the psy scene since late 1995. started his career djing in the local forest areas, pubs and clubs, and beach parties on the nsw north coast whilst studying production at southern cross university, nathan moved back down to sydney about 2001 and have been on the production trail ever since. after meeting michael norris in 2003, MeleE was formed and began gigging again late 2005. MeleE ceased playing together in 2006 and since then nathan as ‘fracas’ has played a number of shows including the regen regrowth festival, cairns festival and a number of parties in and around sydney . fracas has his debut track release on ‘borrowed time’ and is sure to bring along his equipment which goes ‘ping!’ for our entertaining and dancing pleasure for the launch. fracas' favourite colour is purple.

hi everyone

just a quick update giving the set times for festivities this saturday evening.
the hermanns bar have been kind enough to allow us to start from 8.30pm so for the first half hour i shall attempt to commence the evening with a selection of odd chill beat style music to leave you looking potentially befuddled. from 9.00pm onwards our live acts will kick off. so, the set times then…..

8.30 – 9.00 red two (chill)
9.00 – 10.00 widespread (live)
10.00 – 11.00 hedonix (live)
11.00 – 12.00 product placement, cairns (live)
12.00 – 1.00 sinister sequence (live)
1.00 – 2.00 mnemonic (live)
2.00 – 3.00 fracas (live)

i recommend arriving early to commence your listening and dancing pleasures. widespread is a secret treat that nathan has been working and manipulating which may be described as that funky progressive groove thing (not to be confused with barry’s red hat beanie thing), while hedonix following after are destined to provide many a preview of their debut album 'order out of chaos' which is available from the 7 august.

taking into consideration a product placement sydney injection (definately too long since we, i.e, sydney has seen a hayden set), sinister sequence, mnemonic and a final encore by nathan as his usual fracas persona, were hoping that the evening have many treats and musical surprises for all in attendance. feel free to come along........
