On the weekend of September 25 -27, Earthdance returns to its bush roots with a crew and members campout for everyone who has contributed over the years and made the event possible.

The campout will be an intimate 3-day event encompassing music, art and lifestyle held 2 hours away from Sydney near Newcastle on private property. The venue features rivers and plenty of grass, shade and includes basic camping facilities.

All the details will be released through the brand new website http://earthdancesydney.ning.com , and will only be visible to those who become a member.

With a lineup spanning a broad range of local, interstate and international artists, including techno kingpins SLAM and SILICONE SOUL from the Soma label and ISAAC TUCKER from UK group SPEKTRUM, the Earthdance Sydney 2009 members/crew party is a time for the Earthdance family to come together and really ‘give peace a dance’!

Entry is with a $50 donation to cover the cost of camping facilities and infrastructure, while any remaining funds will be donated to a local charity (tbc).

Earthdance is a music festival for peace and we feel the message may have been undermined in recent times, so be smart about who you tell as we hope to return to the Earthdance roots with this event.

Unfortunately we don't get to choose the weekend Earthdance is held. It's a global event, and this is the date they chose. I'm happy to see if we can work some extra DJ sets to combine the 2 parties.

Sounds wicked, but it seems a little expensive for a charity party.

Well said. I'm sure we are not the first people to raise their eyebrows as to the appreciable increase in the 'suggested donation'.

Still, $50 for a bush disco is fairly normal now-days it would seem and you could probably argue that it is for charity. Let's just all hope the production and staging costs of the event don't 'blow out' on paper and swallow up the revenue that is eventually donated.

What if I can only come for 1 day and just want to join the Pray for Peace?

(I guess it could be rephrased a Pay for Piece? ) ;)

I think the idea is to raise money for charity....not to treat to the punters as a charity ;-)

I think the idea should be to raise money for charity and at the same time to remember they should be treated as people, not punters.

$50 is a pretty fair price for a 2 night party with multiple stages (in my opinion anyway)

No offence intended "people" ;-) I am actually a punter (also a person) as well and will be donating my $50 to help the organisers cover costs and raise some money.

His hand does seem to be in his pocket, but it is reaching thru the pocket, grasping something else.
If it is Lui, that's what would be going on there.
