I'm in the mood for some outdoor springtime fun in the sun, and Earthdance would be just the ticket. After some googling, the Sydney blog has bee hacked by some Viagra spammer (chuckle) and there's no word of any Sydney festivals for the event.

Anyone know what the story is? The Earthdance doofs were fab, and the festivals in Sydney park were killer, not to mention extremely convenient for us locals. (though I never even got in to the one at the park near central station as 'apparently' it was full, according to our good friends, the local constabulary)

Is anyone taking the baton this year, and is there an event that's not been publicised?

It's a great chance for a daytime catchup and Newtown festival REALLY doesn't cut it these days!

very unlikely any sydney council will approve an earthdance in the city after what happened at prince alfred park. ie too many people, crowds of trouble makin lads, etc etc

there was a semi private bush earthdance over the past couple years but last years was shut down cos the music was upsetting some nearby koalas.

the traditional organizers of the sydney one have a lot of other events in the works to keep em busy, someone fresh may need to take the baton as you said.

there's a doof on like every second weekend until the end of the year i reckon, get yourself out into the wilderness;)

Maybe John Sylk will do Earthdance this year ?

It certainly would be good to see the return of Landcare Australia as the primary beneficiary of the Earthdance event.

Lol. Yeah, I was hoping I wasn't going to open up a can o worms with this thread. Regardless, it would be really cool if it could happen again... maybe next year in the city, butt keeping it smaller scale.

Yeah I was going to mention that lad music attracts lads, and that putting psytrance in the toilet area sucked a bit, but didn't want to re-hash old whinges.

I see that my comment was a little too subtle...
