We would like to announce that following a long and tedious process with the authorities, a number of noise restrictions will be enforced throughout the long weekend of 3-5 October. After numerous discussions and meetings with various agencies, it has become apparent that a number of concerns were raised by the public during last year’s event regarding noise pollution. Various issues were deliberated including noise monitoring, positioning of stages and manners of operation so as to not create unnecessary attention to the festival from adjoining residential areas. As a result, we need to make some small changes to this year’s format to allow for the proper and legal continuation of the festival.

In this regard, following discussion amongst everyone involved, some minor musical restrictions will apply throughout the first evening period (Saturday night). It is considered necessary to provide for a no music policy for the outdoor Earth Stage during the Saturday evening between 11.00pm and 8.00am. While the above restrictions are regrettable, we have had to take this action in the best interest of the festival so that the authorities will allow us to continue.

But it's certainly not the end of the world!! The good news is that music will be available throughout Saturday night within the Fire Stage, where a number of artists will be repositioned for your dancing and grooving pleasure, with activities continuing as usual on the Water Stage. In addition, the main (Air) Stage will open earlier this year, on Sunday morning.

We have all worked tirelessly – above and beyond what we thought were our limits!! – in our efforts to create an amazing atmosphere and we believe that regardless of any noise restrictions the festival will not only live up to but exceed expectations for all involved.

Come with us now on a journey through time and space....

It gives me great pleasure to announce the activities and workshop schedule for the Water Dragon Area for Dragon Dreaming 2009.

This years festival will see Water Dragon bringing passionate people of all backgrounds together openly sharing their love and wisdom, their stories; and importantly their craft. Come and explore the bamboo playground, treat yourself to a massage, meditate around the mandala, make some art to last a lifetime; most importantly make the space and your experience of it your own!

Be sure to remember to bring along your instruments for late night jam sessions, led by you and your crew!

Healing Teas – Teas are a great tasty way of fuelling our bodies with all the goodness that Mother Nature provides us. Lauren our beautiful bush goddess, has been busily collecting scrumptious yumminess from the greatest supermarket around; the Australian outback! She and her team are looking forward to offering these nutritious treats along with fresh fruit, and tasty cakes all weekend.

Massage and Healing Space – Massage has long been considered at once therapy and relaxing, and in recent years its popularity has again been on the rise; with many other traditional remedies being viewed correctly in the same light. From Reiki to Chinese Accupressure and Osteopathy, Dragon Dreaming is your opportunity to experience this luxury for free. Look out for the friendly bodywork crew, marked by their beautiful smiles and tagged shirts.

Crystal Mandala - This year, the light temple will be utilising principles from such traditions as sacred magic, alchemy, yogic philosophy, reiki, and the emerging Liquid Crystals. The light temple will be an active grid space, in which the principles of nature and the master devas are called upon to support stable healing and spiritual evolution on an individual and group level, in service to humanity. Come and have a chat, meditate, play with the energy and crystals and meet new members of the growing local and international spiritual community.

Indigenous and Environmental Awareness – When grandmother earth was created, the humans were given the privelege of being her keepers her caretakers. Working as one with our brothers and sisters; the animals and trees, our role is kept in delicate balance, only when this harmony is maintained is our role fulfiilled. This space will open your eyes to, what you can do to maintain our position of caretakers, and how the ancestors of this country succeeded for so many years. The earth warriors at the forefront of this never-ending adventure, are here to share their tales of struggle and triumph, and the adventure that is our earths future.

Open Air Cinema - As the nights descend on Dragon Dreaming Festival, the cinema will start to heat up. A range of films will be on display covering a diverse series of topics. Relax and unwind. Learn. Be inspired.

Arts Space - Explore other people's art and create your own. This area will have a range of displays over the course of the festival to enrich your mind and your festival experience.
