an interesting evening indeed.

no issues with venue that others have sadly experienced in the past, while more at home with the carloads of young gentlemen cruising past with their rnb blaring in their wrxs & vl commodores, the bouncers were nice enough, especially considering the retarded way in which management tries to usher the crowd in and out.

the system, quite impressive, beautiful deep and mid bass, the treble though was farking painful and desperately in need of tuning. i suppose again a result of managment and their in-house sound techs.

music. haha, i knew it was gonna be cheesy, but when gil paradox (i think) started playing a remix of some 50 cent song (it sounded like one at least), i began to comprehend just what i was in for. throughout gms's set, i came to the conclusion many times that if they simply cut out the karaoke vocals and flaling arms, it would have been really really good music, as the kick and bass especially did sound mighty chunky fine for much of the evening. tunes during openning and closing sets were very enjoyable also:)

all in all, a fun evening though, put together well and the crowd definitely got what they came for :)

Well Michelle was proudly displaying her thong all day in Byron. I guess she was doing that for Riktam  ....for old times sake. Was she hiding under the table during the boys set? Did anybody notice it, this time? . Such as her reputation last time she was in Australia some random got up on stage and tried to grope her. None too impressed was she.

Never mind if it had been Riktam it would be all hands on. :killah:

Conquest presents GMS Growling Michelle's Snatch. I suppose that was part of the deal to ensure both Riktam and Bonsai showed up - have Michelle on the bill as well.

I agree Paradox was fromage, but Michelle and GMS rocked it.

Sound was good, not too crowded and the crowd was friendly, no probs at all with security, stage looked good but not much decore in the venue apart from a woeful fluro painting.

The set times indicated a 2 hour set from GMS, but by my estimation it was less than 1 and 1/2- still it was all killah and no fillah.

Whats with the haters in this thread "Party Reviews and Discussion" - that usually means you have to have actually attended the party to post your opinion.

you'd think for a production like that they would bother with some decor?
i mean honestly, two tiny psy canvases and a few potplants? ..must have taken them about 4.6 minutes to prep the venue..

venue was pretty fancy.. elevator drivers, $6 tooheys new (cheapest drink), line/cue rules which just didnt make sense, poorly tuned sound system, it was so nice to have aircon at a venue (compared to the sweatbox gaelic), the security were pretty friendly..

cheese cheese cheese.. but thats what everyone should have expected with the names playing.. haha

all in all i had a fun night.. very glad there was an afterparty to head to though..

Agreed Psychonaut! :exactly:

She must of had some killer reverb, delays or sampling going on because i could of sworn there was vocals when she wasn't singing..

I realised I went to that gig just to hear GMS play that requiem for a dream remix and they did.

The crowd was a little too friendly if you ask me.
I was dancing at the front with my eyes closed then all of a sudden some munter was lying on the ground grabbing my legs trying to see up my dress.

And whoever did the sound... woah... no no...

That was like the cheese they use at Mac Donald's except it didn't taste good.

But good on Conquest for bringing em out.

Seraphine: I hope you weren't one of those show ponies in stupidly high heels trying to dance to the music that we were trying not to laugh at!!!

I thought both Michele and GMS played pretty rocking sets!

As for the crowd - interesting.

People who go out clubbing in really high heels always crack us up! Yes we were dancing but we'd already spotted these people in the line to get in and subsequently saw them again on the dance floor.

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Wow.. just because I thought GMS was shit I get this...

I can appreciate Cheese...
I never said i was a vegan.
But even certain Sydney DJs that were ment to play at our party afterwards got to sick from it.

Lady you obviously don't know me well at all. I don't even own a pair of heels what sort of noob do you take me for?
I am guilty of the occasional Swear Alternative Sneaker combo... but heels... no way.
I am definately not a show pony. I mean how many show ponies know what reverb or a vocoder is for F***sake.
Wow guys. Little Seraphine has finally been bitten on Australiens...

I feel like a real Syndey doofa now...Took long enough.. I thought the branding started after my first tab!

*hugs all*

who cares what these people were wearing lol, as long as they got down to some psy and had a good time thats all that matters. theres nothing wrong with liking a bit of cheese and its nice to see an oldschool name in aus. if ur too cool to dance to a bit of cheese why bother fronting up in the first place. my 2 cents anyway. :)

I did scream... but the thing is it was one of my genuine shock screams.. so it came out all manly cause when im genuinely scared or in shock.. my voice gets deeper....
Don't ask me why...
Then i ran away and hid with my friend Jimmi who was also getting hassled by another munter.
