An intimately psychedelic gathering featuring the luminous Australian live artists Interpulse and The Mollusk, along with a number of Canberra based live and DJ acts.

(Omelette Records, Melbourne)

Australian based Omelette Records is once again rolling out the red carpet, this time for The Mollusk (aka Shane Vigo) with his Debut EP Sea Food. This release is sure to take you on a jovial journey, manufactured for the wonkiest of celebrations & pool parties alike.

Sea Food's idiosyncratic sound will have you questioning where reality ends and the land of milk and honey begins. The Mollusk formula brings together ageless classic sounds with a glitchy, fat, sloppy mid range and rolling bass that has the crowd twirling, playing, spinning and toppling over.

"Breaking convention" is the Mollusk's middle name, with his constant array of inventive ways of coming up with new sounds. These include recordings of a spray can underwater, circuit bending toys and wet towels thrown at a brick wall, among hundreds of other hair brain & fun ideas to create sound art. After recording these sounds, a select few are re-worked in the studio to become a bass line, synthesis, percussion and other quirky re-creations.

The Sea Food project is a soup of field recordings, live guitar, bass, synthesizers and countless recordings from studios around the world. The resulting recipe is a combination of flavors from downtempo, electronica, folktronica, glitch-hop, left-field hip hop, brokenbeat, jazz groove, funk, disco, dubstep and more. but that said ,The Mollusk's cutting edge style has such a distinctive sound design that most people find it impossible to relate to anything they have heard before.

The Mollusk started back in 2007 as a solo project, and has been to every state of Australia on his sonic journey. He has played at festivals such as Renaissance Festival, Rainbow Serpent and Winter Solstice. Shane has had the opportunity to play with some of his favorite artists such as Bluetech, Bassnectar and Vibesquad to name a few.

(Open Records, Melbourne)

Based in Melbourne, Richard Hinkson, Interpulse, first began producing electronica 15 years ago. Richie is also known for his 8 years with live, tribal-trance duo, Mantrix, who played live at most major Australian outdoor festivals and produced a large handful of albums, with releases on various labels including Sub and Psy-Harmonics.

2007 saw the completion of Mantrix, and the beginning of Richie’s solo project, Interpulse. The fresh sound is focused on uplifting journeys through deep, progressive music, combining melodic atmospheres with driving techno basslines and layered tribal percussion - all wound together with a distinct Australian outdoor festival vibe and strong dancefloor focus.

2008 saw Interpulse embark on a successful Japanese tour which coincided with the first Interpulse release, "Transcender", a digital EP released by Open Records. The next release was an Ace Ventura remix, Presence, co-written with Shadow Fx, released by Iboga Records on Reboot, Ace Ventura’s Remix album. Richie is currently working on his debut Interpulse album to be released in 2010.

Fire shows during the evening, roaming performers in the morning. 7000 watts of the servants mackies tuned to perfection... Warm chai and food, and a massive bonfire to kick back and soak up some of the best music and vibes around with friends old and new. Magnificent!

...Which is interesting, because if you write CHOICE QUALITY in block letters on a piece of paper then hold it upside down in front of a mirror, you can still read the letters of CHOICE but not of QUALITY. Bizarre...
